Another my version of ACEO oil portrait of Arwen

I practice in cat "watercoloring". Watercolor and gouache on Canson Mi-Tientes paper. Mi-Tientes is quite thin paper, but nice for watercolor too.

I finished painting of Arwen. It was done in three layers (burnt umber values - first, and two color layers follow)

Charlie 2.5x3.5 inches in pastel

Pastel is my favorite media. When painted on velour, it's hard to ship a completed work - pastel particles might dust dust off even when sprayed with fixative and carefully packed. Velour paper was created like specially for painting pet portraits, it is soft and easy to work with.

I finished today two studies of ACEO size, "Girl playing with a kitten" and "Blondina" by Lord Leighton. Studies are like talking to Masters. They give you valuable advices - what colors to use, how to relate values etc. You may not listen well, then you make mistakes in studies (as to me, I do them often, I am not perfect student). But you learn anyway, little by little. When I see my old paintings I see my mistakes more clear, I would never see them, if I will not learn with every my painting.
